Novus Law Announces Winners of Its Legal Document Challenge and Launches Newly Improved Website

Novus Law, LLC, a leading global legal services firm providing document review, management and analysis, announced the two winners in its Legal Document Challenge, which coincided with the firm launching its new website.

Peter T. Berk with McDonald Hopkins LLC and David F. Underwood, Ph.D., with Underwood & Associates, LLC were the first two participants to correctly identify the six images on the firm's homepage. Those images represent the Code of Hammurabi, Codex Justinianus, Magna Carta Libertatum, U.S. Constitution, Napoleonic Code and the Constitution of India. Each document is an historically significant legal text which shaped the current legal landscape.

As winners of the Legal Document Challenge, Novus Law will donate $1,000 to Peter's and David's favorite charity in their names. A third donation will be made to The Novus Foundation, established by the founders of Novus Law to support educational and other community-strengthening initiatives in the places where the firm conducts business.
"Challenging participants' legal IQs about historically important legal documents seemed like the perfect way to celebrate Novus Law's new website. We were thrilled with the participation and believe that the Legal Document Challenge was so successful because it highlighted Novus Law's defining values: a commitment to the law, respect for the past combined with enthusiasm for innovation, and social responsibility," said Novus Law co-founder and CEO Raymond Bayley.

Peter selected the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services, as his charity of choice. David chose Friends of Spring Creek Forest Preserves, an organization dedicated to the long-term restoration and conservation of healthy woodlands, prairies and wetlands in the 4,000 acre Spring Creek Forest Preserves located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, to receive the donation on his behalf. Providing financial support to these charities was the most rewarding part of the challenge for Novus Law.

"We take social responsibility very seriously and are delighted to support Peter's and David's wonderful charities," said Bayley.

The contest coincided with Novus Law unveiling its redesigned and improved website, which features enhanced tools for its clients and a Knowledge Center that offers thought leadership from the firm and resources about the legal industry. The new site also provides insightful and expanded information about Novus Law's services and the cutting-edge Novus Process™, the firm's comprehensive document review, management and analysis process for litigation, investigations, bankruptcies and mergers and acquisitions.

In 2008, the Novus Process™ received a global InnovAction Award from the College of Law Practice Management and Novus Law was inducted into the College's hall of fame, which is the first time either distinction has been awarded to an organization other than a law firm. Using the Novus Process™, clients have reduced costs for legal document review, management and analysis up to 60-80%.

"We're excited about this new website because it offers a more dynamic tool for our clients and the firm. A key component of our mission is understanding and analyzing critical information and we wanted our website to meet this goal by delivering key details about Novus Law, our expertise and experience and the services we can provide for law firms and corporate legal departments," said Bayley.

Raymond Bayley is available to speak with the media about the Legal Document Challenge, Novus Law's new website, and the firm, which provides award-winning process and quality management at reduced costs for corporate counsel and law firms.
